A judge has said he would be "horrified" if the HSE ceases to fund reasonably priced overnight stays in a UK city to facilitate involvement of the parents of a young man with severe anorexia in his specialist treatment there, writes Ann O’Louglin.

The president of the High Court, Mr Justice Peter Kelly, said the only reason the man is in the UK is because there is no specialist unit here to address this form of treatment resistant anorexia.
