A man has died at the Body and Soul festival in county Westmeath.

A man has died at the Body and Soul festival in county Westmeath.

The 31 year old collapsed and was treated at the festival's medical tent by advanced paramedics and a consultant doctor in emergency medicine, however he passed away.

The sold-out fitness event saw over 300 competitors take on DMax 7.7 featuring seven fitness stations, lasting seven minutes per station with a two minute transition between station. Competitors entered in teams of two and tested their strength, endurance and mental resilience across a series of challenges including rope skipping, ski-erg, medicine ball, assault bike, rowing, burpee box jumps and wall balls.
