Female pensioner injured after shooting in Dublin
A 77-year-old woman is recovering in hospital after she was shot in the leg at her home in Dublin last night.
She was shot by a lone gunman who knocked on her door on Oliver Plunkett Avenue in Monkstown at 11.20pm last night.
Gardaí have described it as a callous attack. They are appealing to anyone with information to contact them.
Superintendent Martin Fitzgerald said there is very little information about the gunman, who fled the scene on foot.
In terms of description, what we're working with at this moment in time is a male, dressed in dark clothing, we have no assessment as to what age, and a height description of between 5' 7" and 5' 10"," he said.
A woman aged in her 70s is receiving treatment in hospital following a shooting incident in Dublin last night.
It happened on Oliver Plunkett Avenue in Monkstown at around 11pm.
Gardaí say the woman was taken to hospital for treatment to her injuries, which are described as non life threatening.
No arrests have been made.
Investigations are ongoing.
