Sinn Féin President Gerry Adams has called former Northern Ireland Secretary Owen Patterson "a complete tube" after the British MP said politicians in the North should be denied their salaries if they fail to reach a powersharing agreement.

Mr Adams made the comment when he was talking to Cormac O’hEadhra, who was standing in for Sean O'Rourke on RTÉ Radio One's 'Today with Sean O' Rourke' show this morning.
