Man in serious condition after Dublin hit-and-run
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to last night’s serious hit-and-run incident at Hazelwood Drive, Kilmore, Coolock, Dublin.
A man, aged in his late 20s, suffered serious injuries when he was struck by a vehicle described as being a white, circa 2003, Renault Megane van.
The man was out jogging at the time of the collision. The vehicle failed to remain at scene.
The man received medical assistance at the scene before being taken to Beaumont Hospital where his condition is described as critical.
The road was closed to facilitate Garda Forensic Collision Investigators but has since reopened.
A short time later a vehicle was discovered burnt out at Beechlawn Grove, Coolock close to Parnell's GAA Club. This vehicle was seized for technical examination.
Investigating Gardaí are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information, particularly those who may have observed a white coloured Renault Megane van in the Coolock area prior to or following the collision, most notably the Hazelwood and Beechlawn areas between 9pm-10.30pm, to contact them at Coolock Garda Station on 01 6664200, The Garda Confidential Line 1800 666111 or any Garda Station.
A man has been knocked down in a hit-and-run incident overnight and remains in a serious condition in hospital.
A car struck the man at Hazelwood Drive in the Artane area of Dublin at around 10pm last night.
An off-duty fireman and member of the public were first on the scene before he was taken to Beaumont Hospital.
The car involved in the incident was found abandoned a short time later at Beechlawn grove near Parnells GAA club.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses and particularly the man who assisted at the scene before Gardai arrived to contact them.
