In hospitals across the country today there are more than 500 people waiting to be admitted.

More than 500 people waiting for hospital beds today

According to the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation - Cork University Hospital is the most overcrowded with 45 people in need of a bed.

University Hospital Limerick is next with 38 people on trolleys and overflow areas of wards - followed by South Tipperary General Hospital on 37.
