Martin McGuinness has announced that he will not run for reelection to the North's Assembly, to concentrate on recovering from "a very serious illness".

Martin McGuinness has announced that he will not run for reelection to the North's Assembly, to concentrate on recovering from "a very serious illness".

In a statement this evening, he said he had intended to step down in May of this year - 10 years since entering government with Ian Paisley as joint leader of the northern Executive.
