GOAL welcomes release of €3.92m in funding by Irish Aid
Aid agency GOAL has welcomed the release of almost €4m in funding by Irish Aid.
Foreign Affairs Minister Charlie Flanagan earlier announced the release of €3.92m in funding for the long term development work of the agency.
The funding was withheld in May due to a US investigation of a number of NGOs over the procurement of humanitarian supplies for victims of the crisis in Syria.
Minister Flanagan says the money is being released "following an intensive process of engagement with GOAL".
