Pope to come to Ireland in 2018, says Taoiseach

Pope Francis is to visit Ireland in August 2018.

Pope Francis has formally confirmed to Taoiseach Enda Kenny that he will be visit Ireland in August 2018, during a private meeting between the two at the Vatican today, writes Juno McEnroe for the Irish Examiner.

Mr Kenny said he was privileged to have met the pope, after a a near half hour meeting in the Apostolic Palace.
