Elderly woman dies after car crash in Roscommon

A woman in her late 80s has died from her injuries following a car crash in County Roscommon.

The single-vehicle collision happened on the N60 near Castlerea just after 2pm on Sunday afternoon.

The woman was seriously injured when the car she was driving veered off the road and hit a wall.

She passed away at University Hospital Galway yesterday afternoon.

Gardaí in Castlrea are appealing for witnesses to contact them.
