A Detective Garda was told he would be killed and his house burned down after he and other officers carried out a late night raid on the home of an accused man, a court heard, Tuesday writes David Raleigh.

Darren O'Halloran, (31), of Aurea Cottage, Dublin Road, Limerick, has pleaded not guilty at Limerick Circuit Court to charges of threatening to kill Det Gda Pat Whelan, Henry Street garda station, Limerick, and threatening to burn down the garda's home.
