Update (1.11pm): A jury has now been sworn in for the trial of Sean FitzPatrick. They will not begin to hear evidence until next month in what is expected to be a 12-week trial.

Earlier:

Sean FitzPatrick has pleaded not guilty to making misleading, false or deceptive statements to auditors Ernst & Young between 2002 and 2008.

The former chairman of Anglo Irish Bank has also denied furnishing false information in relation to multi-million euro personal loans.

The process of selecting an enlarged jury of 15 is now underway.

Potential jurors have been told they should not serve if they have any strong feelings towards Anglo Irish Bank.

They have also been told they will be excused if they have been personally affected by banking difficulties or feel they cannot be impartial.
