Three in hospital after suspected stolen car rams two cars, including Garda patrol car

Gardaí have released a photograph of a suspected stolen car car that rammed a patrol car and a woman's car this morning in Co Meath.

Officers say it was driven by suspects in a burglary investigation in Co Meath.

Gardaí on patrol in the Kiltale area of Co Meath at around 11.30am this morning saw a car that they were targetting in Operation Thor.

They said the silver VW Golf, which had four men inside, pulled into a garage and reversed into a woman's car, injuring her.

As the Garda patrol car drove into the forecourt the suspects' car then rammed the patrol car and fled.

Two of the men ran away on foot but were followed by the two Gardaí who arrested one 18-year-old man.

He is being detained at Trim Garda station under the provisions of section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 as amended.

The injured female and the two Gardaí were taken to Connolly Hospital in Blanchardstown for treatment.

The silver golf was found a short time later in a field around a mile from Mullagh Cross on the Summerhill to Dunboyne Road.

Local Gardaí, helped by the Air Support Unit, are searching the area.

They have appealled for anyone who may have seen the silver VW Golf in the Kiltale area or may have seen it being abandoned at Mullagh Cross to contact them at Trim on 046

9481540, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
