Gardaí arrest man during seizure of €500k of cannabis in Dublin

Gardaí have seized more than 1,000 cannabis plants and arrested a man following a search at a house in Co Dublin yesterday.

Gardaí carried out the search at Heronford Lane, Shankill, Co. Dublin, and found 400 cannabis plants growing on the ground floor.

A further search recovered 700 cannabis plants in the basement, and Gardaí have said the seizure may be worth more than €500,000.

They arrested a man in his 30s at the house and have detained him under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996, at Shankill Garda Station.

The house has been sealed off for a forensic examination today.
