Man to appear in court following car chase and burglary in Laois

One man will appear in court this morning in connection with a car chase and burglary in County Laois yesterday morning.

The incident happened when a car was stolen from outside a house in Mountmellick.

Gardai were alerted and pursued the car on the M7 Motorway.

The car was later stopped on Cherry Orchard Avenue in Dublin, and a 22 year old man was arrested.

A short time later another car was stopped on Cherry Orchard Court and the driver, another 22-year-old man, was arrested.

One man was charged by Gardai and will appear before Portlaoise District Court this morning {10:30AM}.

The other man was released without charge - a file is being prepared for the DPP.
