Vodafone ordered to remove 'vital' mobile data equipment from Dublin building

Some Vodafone customers in Dublin could face the loss of 3G, 4G and data services after the company was ordered to remove aerials in the area.

The Times has reported that An Bord Pleanála has ordered Vodafone to remove equipment from a building on Thomas St in The Liberties.

Dublin City Council said the aerials are visible from street level and are "incongruous" with the character of the building.

Vodafone say the equipment is vital to providing indoor coverage in the area, which is near the Guinness Brewery and the Government-backed 'Digital Hub'.
