Jury to resume deliberations in David Mahon’s murder trial

The jurors in David Mahon’s murder trial will resume their deliberations this morning for a third day.

The 45-year old of Ongar Village denies murdering his 23-year-old stepson Dean Fitzpatrick three years ago.

Six men and six women have spent just over five hours considering whether he is guilty of his murder.

It is the prosecution’s case that Mr Mahon stabbed Mr Fitzpatrick deliberately following a row at Mr Mahon’s apartment on the Malahide Road.

The defence is arguing that it was an accident and that Fitzpatrick walked into the knife.

Deliberations will resume at the Central Criminal Courts at 10.30am this morning.
