Independents and Green Party are invested in talks says Paschal Donohoe
The Transport Minister has said that Independents would not be wasting their time with long talks if they did not think a deal could be reached.
Independents and the Green Party are meeting with Fine Gael and Fianna Fáil for Government formation talks this morning.
They have said that really the two big parties need to talk before progress can be made.
However Minister Paschal Donohoe has said that Fine Gael wants to finish talking to Independents before they reach out to Fianna Fáil: “All of these Independents and other parties would not be investing the huge amount of time and effort into this process if they felt it was pointless.
“They are all back in here today, what we have agreed that we want to conclude our discussions with them first.”
