The Motor Insurance Bureau of Ireland is set to appeal a €90m court ruling.

The Court of Appeal says the organisation has to take on the full liabilities of now collapsed Setanta insurance.

If the appeal fails it will could mean significant hikes in insurance premiums.

The MIBI says it has sought legal advice on the matter and is now launching a Supreme Court appeal to have it overruled.
