Detectives are appealing for information after a man was injured in a "punishment style shooting" in West Belfast.

A man in his 20s was shot in his leg in the Ardmonagh Parade area at 7.40pm this evening, the Police Service of Northern Ireland said.

He was taken to hospital for treatment.

Anyone with any information about the incident is asked to contact Woodbourne Police Station on the non-emergency number 101.
