Green Party Convention to be held today

Housing, homelessness and public services are expected to dominate today's Green Party Convention.

Over 200 delegates will attend the gathering where the party's policy on housing and homelessness will be launched.

The Greens are promising affordable mortgages for no longer than 25 years.

But Party leader Eamon Ryan has said climate change will also be on the agenda; “We are hoping to get elected, we think we want a Green voice back in the Dáil and we think we need a Green voice in Irish politics

“We are connected to what is going on in the world, we think ahead,

“I mean the other parties are just thinking about what they can promise for the next election, we are thinking what can we promise for the next generation,

“How we can tackle the really big issues, like climate change, which is happening, which is here and now, look out the door, still flooded out there.”
