Be careful with your turkey leftovers warns Safe Food
Safe Food is advising people to carve up leftover meat and put it in the fridge or freezer as soon as possible.
Christmas leftovers should be refrigerated or frozen within two hours of cooking.
The advice is to carve up leftover meat to allow it to cool down more quickly and for it to be easily stored.
Safe Food is also reminding people that leftovers should be reheated until piping hot before being eaten.
Food scientist with Safe Food Linda Gordon said the storage of leftovers should be prioritised after dinner.
