Visitor restrictions at Tallaght hospital

Tallaght Hospital has imposed visitor restrictions due to an outbreak of the winter vomitting bug.

With the exception of critical ill patients and children - people are being asked not to visit anyone currently being treated there.

In particular children are not permitted to visit patients at this time.

Management has said the outpatients clinic and emergency departments are both operating as normal - however anyone with vomiting or diarrhoea is asked to phone the hospital to rearrange appointments or their GP for advise.

Tallaght Hospital has said it will keep the situation under review.
