Ballymun modular housing for homeless families 'will not be ready for Christmas'
Dublin City Council has confirmed that modular homes being built in Ballymun will not be ready in time for Christmas.
The 22 prefabs were being built in Poppintree to allow homeless families move out of emergency accommodation.
The building company behind the development was forced to stop work earlier this month after protests by local residents who said the land was designated for other social housing projects.
However, this evening the builders blamed the recent bad weather for the delays.
They now claim the homes should be completed by mid January.
