TD Clare Daly released from custody
Clare Daly has been relased from prison.
The United Left TD spent just over an hour behind bars this evening for the non-payment of a court fine.
Independent TD Clare Daly has arrived at Limerick prison after her arrest for the non-payment of a court fine.
She is the second TD to enter the jail today, her colleague Mick Wallace spent two hours behind bars there this afternoon.
The pair appeared in court earlier this year as part of their efforts to stop American military jets, taking part in the Iraq war, refueling at Shannon airport.
They were both handed €2,000 fines but after they failed to pay they were re-arrested today.
Deputy Wallace says he should never have been arrested in the first place.
