More than half of Ireland's wealth is held by 10% of households
More than half of the wealth in Ireland is held by just 10% of households, according to a new study by think-tank TASC.
53.8% of Ireland’s wealth is held by 10% of the households.
Single parent households, mostly headed by women, have the least wealth.
More than half of single parents have less than €300 in savings, compared to €4,000 for single person households.
The study also shows the home ownership rate for single parents is just over 26%, compared to 68% for couples with children.
