Court rejects application to have charges against Thomas 'Slab' Murphy dropped

The judges at the Special Criminal Court trial of prominent republican Thomas 'Slab' Murphy for alleged tax evasion have rejected the defence lawyers' application to have the charges dismissed.

Mr Murphy's defence lawyers had argued that the case was an "abuse of process".
