Investigation launched after body find in Wexford

Gardaí are investigating after the body of a woman in her 80's was discovered in Co Wexford last night.

Her remains were found at her home in Wexford town at around 9.30pm.

It has emerged that the remains may have lain undiscovered for up to two months.

The body was transferred to University Hospital Waterford where a post mortem examination is due to be carried out next week.

It is understood that the Gardai are not treating the woman’s death as suspicious.
