'Things are looking up for young entrepreneurs' says Richard Bruton

There has been a 30% increase in the number of new registered companies, and a drop of more than a third in the number of receiverships and liquidations.

That is according to the Minister for Jobs Richard Bruton who was speaking at the launch of the latest progress report into the Action Plan for Jobs.

He also met with finalists of 'Ireland's Best Young Entrepreneur'.

Minister Bruton has said things are looking up for young business people: “We are seeing the young entrepreneurs go from strength to strength, this year we have had a 40% increase in the applications for the Young Entrepreneur competition.

“And the quality of the applicants that the Taoiseach has described shows the vibrancy that is out there.

“It is also reflected in the 30% increase in new companies registrations and a decline in over one third in receiverships and liquidations.”
