Up to 60mm of rain expected in some parts today; orange warning in place

A Status Orange* rainfall warning is in place for the west and north west of the country today.

Met Éireann warned there would be spells of heavy rain with falls of up to 60mm across Donegal, Galway, Mayo and Sligo until around 3pm.
