Irish Navy carry out third rescue operation today
The Irish Naval Vessel, the LÉ Samuel Beckett, has been involved in a third search and rescue operation of the coast of Tripoli today.
The crew has now rescued a total of 316 people today, including two infants.
A number of those have been transferred to a Luxembourg registered ship, the MV Bourbon Argos.
Earlier today, the ship located an unseaworthy craft carrying 108 people, 60 kilometres off Tripoli.
Later the LÉ Samuel Beckett located a rubber craft with 119 people on-board.
