An Irishman has drowned in Portugal
An Irishman has drowned off the coast of Portugal.
The 69-year-old died at Peneco Beach, one of two Albufeira’s two beaches yesterday.
It is reported he was pulled out of the water by a lifeboat just before 4pm in the afternoon and was worked on by paramedics.
The Irish Independent reports he was declared dead on the quayside and a post-mortem is taking place today to determine if the drowning was due to a health problem.
The Department of Foreign Affairs has said it has not been asked for consular assistance in the case.
