Fine Gael MEP Brian Hayes concerned about coporate taxation proposals

Fine Gael MEP Brian Hayes says he has a number of concerns about proposals on corporate taxation.

The European Parliament's Special Committee on Tax Rulings is demanding a fairer and more transparent system across the EU.

They include making every EU country report on the profits multinationals are making, along with what taxes they're paying; and any subsidies they receive.

The aim is to ensure multinational companies pay taxes where they make their profits.

Fine Gael MEP Brian Hayes says he's concerned about a number of the recommendations.

"There are many jealous countries in Europe who are looking upon this and are trying to 'tut tut' what Ireland has done, so we'll have to look at this report very closely before the re-vote but there are parts of it that I'm worried about I have to say."
