Five members of the Connors family, who died in the Carrickmines fire in south Co Dublin, will be laid to rest today at Crosstown cemetery.

Thomas and Sylvia Connors and three of their children - Jim, Christy and baby Mary - will be buried in Wexford following a prayer service this afternoon.

The Connors, along with five others of their extended family, died in the fire at the Carrickmines halting site on the Glenamuck Road two weeks ago.

Two of Thomas and Sylvia Connors' other children - Michael, seven, and Tom, four - survived the fire.

Tom was saved by his 15-year-old uncle John, who risked his life to pluck his little nephew from the blaze.

The victims of the fire were Sylvia, 25; her husband, Thomas, 27; their sons, Jim, five, and Christy, three, and their five-month-old daughter, Mary; Willy, 25, and Jimmy, 39; Willy’s pregnant fiancée, Tara Gilbert, 27, and their two girls, Jodie, nine, and Kelsey, four, who were buried on Tuesday.
