Man due in court after aggravated burglary in Longford

A 34-year-old man will appear in court in Longford this morning, charged in connection with an aggravated burglary in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Three men entered the house in Edgeworthstown and threatened the occupants before fleeing the scene when the alarm was raised.

One man was arrested after gardaí gave chase on foot, while a second was detained nearby during a follow-up operation.

A 34-year-old man will appear before Longford District Court later, while a 41-year-old is still being held at Granard garda station.
