Two dead, including a garda, woman seriously injured in Louth shooting

Update at 9.45pm: The dead garda was understood to be aged in his 30s and a married father of three young children. Another man died and a woman is seriously injured as a result of the shooting incident in Co Louth.

Update at 9.30pm: The Minister for Justice and Equality, Frances Fitzgerald, has said she is appalled by the loss of life in Omeath this evening: "The fact that a Garda has laid down his life while protecting the community is a cause of great sadness.
