SIPTU agrees to attend talks on Irish Rail dispute

SIPTU has agreed to attend conciliation talks at the Workplace Relations Commission (WRC) on Monday.

The union and the National Bus and Railworkers' Union had issued notice for morning rush hour strikes involving train drivers on Friday October 23 and Friday November 6 in a row over productivity issues.

SIPTU Organiser, Paul Cullen, said: "Union representatives have agreed to attend a conciliation meeting at the WRC.

"We received an invitation to attend following a request from the company to the WRC to reconvene talks on the issues in dispute.

"SIPTU representatives are prepared to listen to what management has to say on Monday concerning a possible solution to this dispute."
