Dáil approves legal team to defend TDs being sued by Denis O'Brien
The Dáil has authorised a full legal defence for TDs who are being sued by Denis O'Brien.
It has given its approval for a legal team to be hired to defend the case being taken against the Houses of the Oireachtas Commission.
The businessman is taking a case arguing that the committee has failed to deal with the abuse of Dáil privilege.
The dispute arose over comments made by TD Catherine Murphy earlier this year, concerning Mr O'Brien's banking arrangements with IBRC.
