Seven men who carried out an aggravated burglary on a family home in Co Tipperary in 2013 have received a range of sentences totalling over a hundred years.

The men were handed sentences ranging from 12 to 20 years, with some time suspended.

The seven, all with addresses in Dublin, had pleaded guilty to one charge of aggravated burglary at the home of Mark and Emma Corcoran at Burnchurch.

It is reported that the Judge said the crime had shocked the nation. That it had a highly planned nature and that the level of violence was terrifying.
