Fianna Fail has accused Fine Gael and Enda Kenny of launching a 'negative' campaign
Fianna Fail has accused Fine Gael and Enda Kenny of launching a 'negative' and 'arrogant' campaign.
Micheál Martin says that the Taoiseach is positing the idea that the 'world will collapse' unless the public votes for him
The Fianna Fail leader says Fine Gael is planning "the most negative re-election campaign" in the history of the state.
Deputy Martin added that he doesn't think Irish voters want another term of Fine Gael and Enda Kenny: "Think the Taoiseach and Fine Gael are endeavouring to tell the Irish people they've no choice in the forthcoming election, that is to say Enda Kenny is saying you either vote for him or the world will collapse, and it's a very arrogant and negative form of campaigning.
"I believe that the people know that more of the same in terms of more of what Enda Kenny in government's been doing in terms of allowing crisis after crisis build up in areas like crime, social housing, drugs, and the lack of reasonable development."
