Road Safety Authority warns about text message scam that seeks bank details

The Road Safety Authority has issued a warning over a text messaging scam.

Texts purporting to come from the RSA's National Driver Licence Service, and containing a link to a website seeking personal identity and banking details, have been brought to the authority's attention.

The RSA is advising people who receive an unsolicited text message to delete it and to contact their bank or credit card company immediately.

The RSA is now liaising with the Gardaí and the Competition & Consumer Protection Commission over the text mesaages.
