Political leaders to descend on Ploughing Championships

Tens of thousands of people are expected to flock to Co Laois today for the second day of the National Ploughing Championships.

Yesterday over 77,000 people descended on the Ratheniska site.

A figure slightly down on last year's attendance.

The leaders of the four major political parties are expected to attend the championships today.

Gardaí are advising anyone travelling to plan ahead and to use public transport where possible.
