Motorcyclist killed in crash near Mullingar

A motorcyclist in his 20s has been killed in a crash in Mullingar.

His bike hit a barrier at Heathstown on the old N4 outside Mullingar Town shortly after 11am.

Investigators are currently carrying out a forensic exam at the scene and the local coroner has been notified.

The road is closed and traffic diversions are in place.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information is asked to contact Mullingar Garda Station or call the Garda Confidential Line 1-800-666-111.
