Gardaí are investigating a cash-in-transit robbery at a service station in Co Meath yesterday afternoon.

It happened shortly after 3pm, as the cash delivery van pulled up at the ATM at the Maxol station on the Dublin Road in Navan.

One of the workers was threatened by a lone man dressed in black and wearing a balaclava.

The man made his getaway with a box of money in a green Honda CRV jeep, registration number 01 SO 1627.

The jeep was later found burnt out in Woodview Court in Navan, while the empty money box was found at Bealing Walk in Blanchardstown in Dublin.

No one was injured and Gardaí are appealing for anyone with any information to come forward.
