'Turn off Tinder and head to Lisdoonvarna,' urges matchmaker
Ireland's last traditional matchmaker is urging people looking for love to turn off Tinder and head to Lisdoonvarna.
Veteran Love Doctor Willie Daly is gearing up to introduce hundreds of potential couples at the annual matchmaking festival which gets underway in Co Clare on Friday.
The 73-year-old says he has helped more than 3,000 people find love over the past 50 years and that there is someone out there for everyone.
Willie said that he believes old fashioned methods offer singletons a better chance of finding love than dating sites - and he said that you cannot beat the magic of human touch.
"It's still a machine, you get talking to people through a computer, now that can break down, it's code, it doesn't have any emotion, it doesn't have any feelings really," said Mr Daly.
"What I do -as in a traditional match-maker - when I introduce people they can look into each other's eyes, they can reach out and touch each other."
