A 24-year-old man has been arrested after an armed robbery in Kildalkey in Co Meath yesterday.

A 24-year-old man has been arrested after an armed robbery in Kildalkey in Co Meath yesterday.

At around a 5.45pm two men armed with a hand gun and an iron bar went into the shop and threatened staff before leaving with a sum of cash.

No shots were fired and no one was physically injured. It is believed the men were driven from the scene in a waiting car.

A 24-year-old man was arrested in Navan just after midnight last night and a car has been seized.

The man is being held at Trim Garda station.
