Irish parents spend more than €500 a year on extracurricular sports activities for their children.

According to GloHealth 91% of those surveyed say the Government should do more to tackle back to school costs each September.

Up to 69% of respondents told researchers they spend at least €500 a year on after-school classes.

Also 17% of parents sign their child up for at least one activity each year.
