Govt figures show fall of almost 3,000 in mortgage holders in arrears
The number of home owners in mortgage arrears is continuing to fall, according to new figures from the Department of Finance.
The total of mortgage holders who have fallen behind with repayments is now down by nearly a quarter in the 12 months to the end of June.
The department figures say the number of mortgage accounts in arrears fell by more than 2,700 in June.
The total in arrears stands at more than 78,000, while those in arrears of more than 90 days has fallen to over 54,000.
