Homeless crisis gives Senator 'feeling of shame'

A Fianna Fáil Senator has said that he is ashamed to be a member of the Oireachtas given the current homeless crisis.
Darragh O'Brien said the Government is not listening to homeless groups who say they need more money to provide housing.
Earlier this week a family with three young children were found sleeping rough in Mountjoy Square in Dublin.
Senator O'Brien said that the Government should be ashamed that that was allowed to happen.
"My feeling … as someone who is in the Oireachtas, is a feeling of shame in that regard," he said.
"The Government should be ashamed that that actually happens.
"More money is needed. Focus Ireland, The Peter McVerry Trust, other groups, not me, are saying they need more money for emergency housing to stop this happening."
