Massive Minion causes chaos in Dublin traffic

A large inflatable Minion disrupted traffic in North Dublin today, when it escaped its tethered place in Santry and flew into cars on the Old Swords road.

Erin van Londen, from Portmarnock in Dublin, was driving when the mischievous Minion - measuring approximately 30 feet - careened onto the road.

“It was causing traffic problems, it got on top of three cars at different stages and one car lost a rear view mirror, but that was the most damage the Minion did,” said Erin.

“The generator was still attached, so it could have been more serious.”

Erin called the police, who reportedly arrived two to three minutes later to control traffic and deflate the errant Minion.

“I told the police that this could sound like a weird phone call, but a loose inflatable Minion was causing traffic problems,” said Erin, who said that the police arrived promptly despite the unusual nature of the call.

The Minion was deflated by police and passers-by and its colossal 30 foot frame was folded up and taken away in a wheelbarrow.

Erin said that she had noticed the inflatable Minion when she drove that road the previous day, so she was aware of it before it flew down the road at her approaching car.

Whatever the large inflatable was designed to promote, it generated more Minion mischief than anyone had likely bargained for.
